Thread lift

Thread lift with barbed wires

Thread lift with thick, barbed threads is a treatment that tightens the fat pads in the face. Over time, the face loses volume and the fat pads in the face begin to sag, this process is visible in the lower part of the face in the form of “hamster bags”. Fillers usually work less well to address this type of aging, and this is where thread lift comes in as a good treatment option.

Barbed threads are lifting threads that have small “barbs” that are inserted deeper into the tissue than thin threads. The threads create a foreign body process that stimulates the body’s own collagen production to form around the threads. These “tunnels” of collagen create an upward pull which is experienced as a lift and tightening of the face.

The first step in the treatment is to numb the area with local anesthesia, then an entry hole is made where the threads are inserted. The threads are connected to non-sharp cannulas with blunt tips that do not cut through the skin but slide through without damaging the tissue, we place a number of threads per half of the face. After the threads have been inserted, we check that they are in place, then the protruding threads are cut off. Soreness and bruising in the area are common and gradually decrease during the weeks after the treatment. As mentioned earlier, the threads create a foreign body reaction in the tissue, which causes "tunnels" of collagen to form around each thread. This creates a "pull" in the direction where the threads are placed, which can be experienced as a lift. The effect is gradual as collagen is gradually formed 4-7 months after the treatment.

Thin threads

A treatment with thin threads aims to increase the volume and elasticity of the skin and thus strengthen the skin quality. The threads induce a mechanical tension in the skin and stimulate natural collagen formation, which increases the skin's elasticity and firmness. The following areas can be treated with thin threads: forehead, temples, the area under the eyes, cheeks, nasolabial folds, baggy skin, jawline, neck, stomach, chest, thighs and lips. Thin threads are used for the eyes and lips that are connected to blunt cannulas. Other areas are treated with threads that are connected to sharp needles, which means that there is a risk of bruising. Areas with thin skin such as: neck, eyes, lips, etc. Local anesthesia is injected into the area before the treatment. The threads create a foreign-body reaction in the tissue, which ends in "tunnels" of collagen forming around each thread. This creates a "pull" in the direction where the threads are placed, which can be experienced as a lift. Collagen is formed gradually 3-7 months after treatment. The more threads you insert, the greater the effect.
